What we publish
CasinoList.ca maintains deliberately different kinds of records:
- Operator reviews and rankings for selected brands that we have verified in current regulated provincial markets and reviewed against our published criteria.
- Official-source profiles for brands or platforms found in our current provincial or regulator records.
- Casino brand guides for selected internationally licensed, unresolved, restricted, historical or closed brands that Canadians may search for.
A page existing on this site is not itself a recommendation.
Source hierarchy
We prioritize current provincial authorities, regulators, official gambling providers, operator terms and regulator licence records. Marketing copy, payment-method support and anonymous review scores do not establish provincial authorization.
Our core classification rule
International licensing is not presented as Canadian provincial authorization.
A Curaçao, Malta, Kahnawake, Tobique, Anjouan or other licence may be relevant evidence about an operator's legal entity or international licensing status. It does not, by itself, prove that the operator belongs on an Ontario, Alberta or other provincial regulated casino list.
Ranking method
CasinoList.ca only ranks an operator after two gates are satisfied: we have verified that the relevant brand/site appears in the applicable regulated provincial market, and we have completed enough of our public-information review to score it consistently.
The current 100-point model is:
- 20 points — Regulation and identity clarity: regulator listing, operator identity and clear market availability.
- 25 points — Casino-game breadth and discoverability: breadth of major casino categories and how clearly the operator exposes them to users.
- 20 points — Responsible-gambling controls: publicly documented limits, self-exclusion and other player-control tools.
- 15 points — Banking and support transparency: clarity of deposit, withdrawal and support information available before or during registration.
- 10 points — Mobile and desktop access: evidence of practical access across common devices and platforms.
- 10 points — Public information clarity: how readily important terms, help material and product information can be found and verified.
The first ranking release covers only operators for which this review has been completed. A score of 96/100 therefore means 96 under this published model among reviewed operators, not “96% safe,” a guarantee of service, or proof that every regulated casino in the province has already been compared.
Province-specific ranking rules
Ontario and Alberta currently have competitive regulated online-gambling markets, so ranked reviewed operators are useful there.
Where our official-source research identifies one provincial or regional online platform rather than a competitive market, we list that official option without manufacturing a “#1” ranking. Canadian territories are also handled separately when the evidence does not support a comparable territory-wide competitive online-casino market.
What does not affect a score
Commission rates do not enter the scoring model. An operator cannot buy points or move upward because an affiliate arrangement pays more.
CasinoList.ca also does not claim hands-on deposit, withdrawal or customer-support testing unless such testing has actually been conducted and documented. The current ranking release is based on public evidence and official/regulator records.
Verification status
Official / provincially regulated: present in the current official-source research for the named province.
Internationally licensed / not provincially authorized: an international licence may be verified, but we did not establish the brand in the applicable provincial regulated list.
Unresolved: operator identity, licence, domain mapping, Canadian availability or another material fact is missing, inconsistent or insufficiently current.
Closed / historical: the brand is no longer operating or is being covered for historical/search-intent reasons.
Hands-on tested: would require documented testing with dates, scope and limitations. No casino receives that label merely because it appears in our database.
Outbound-link policy
Profiles for regulated or official platforms may link to the verified official site or verification source. Other casino brand guides may omit an operator link when provincial authorization has not been established. Research sources remain available for transparency.
Commercial relationships
No affiliate links are active in this release. If affiliate relationships are added later, the program, intended jurisdiction, destination, privacy implications and disclosure requirements must be checked before publication. Commission rates alone will not determine ordering.
Updates and corrections
The integrated research snapshot and first ranking model were checked on 10 September 2026. Gambling markets, domains, operators, licences, products and terms can change. Relevant pages display their verification date.
Corrections should identify the page, disputed statement and a supporting primary source. Contact the editorial team.
Scope limits
We do not provide legal advice, promise a casino's safety, determine individual eligibility or guarantee that a regulated operator will remain regulated. Readers should recheck the current primary source before acting.
